KIDS CLASSES

Mythical Beast Masks
March 10, 17, 24, 31 4:00 - 5:00 pm.
$22/$17 for IFAC members
Design and build a mask inspired by such creatures as unicorns, griffins, and medusa. Working with cardboard, hot glue, paint, and yarn we will creat out of this world masks!
Sculpture
April 7, 14, 21, 28 4:00 - 5:00 pm.
$22/$17 for IFAC members
Students will learn basics of sculpture and some history of the world's greatest artists. Each week we will study a new element in sculpture and practice subtractive and additive sculpting. Students will learn different methods of sculpting with many tools.
Colored Pencils
May 5, 12, 19, 26 4:00 - 5:00 pm.

Students will concentrate on the basics of colored pencils. We will learn about alyering colors and color lifting. We will complete a project using the value scale in a monochromatic color scheme.

Explore the many uses of water in making art! We will create artwork using watercolor ink, ink washes and bamboo brushes, watercolor pencils and more! Then explore how art can float as you design sea worthy 3D vessels.
Art Fundamentals
April 6, 13, 20, 27 3:45 - 5:00 pm.

Students will learn everything from A-Z on the basics of art. They will be introduced to different theories and ideas. We will use charcoal, graphite, India ink, conte crayons, colored pencils, and oil pastels. We will draw with white chalk on black construction paper and study negative and positive space. This is a great class to learn the basics.
Mixed Media Collage
May 4, 11, 18, 25 3:45 - 5:00 pm.
$45/$38 for IFAC members
Experiment with all types of collage from paper to found objects to assemblage, photo montage, fabric, tissue paper, and Xerox collage. Combine collage with ink, colored pencils, and acrylic paint to create 2D and 3D collages.
Oil Painting
February 6, 13, 20, 27 10:00 - 1:00 pm.
$60/$52 for IFAC members
This class will cover all the basics of oil painting. We will learn how to prepare a canvas for painting and how to compose the artwork. Students will leave this class wtih a very clear understanding of how to work with oil paints and will complete a painting.
Drawing
March 6, 13, 20, 27 10:30 - 1:00 pm.
$60/$52 for IFAC members
Develop drawing skills through exercises designed to enhance participants' ability to see and translate images. Improving drawing skills compliments and promotes growth in all other visual arts. Participants will expand on quick exercises to create well-finished drawings to take home. Appropriate for beginner to intermediate drawers. A supply list will be sent.
Pastels
April 2, 9, 16, 23 1:30 - 3:30 pm.
$48/$40 for IFAC members
Students will study pastel as a medium and experiment with the fascinating art material. They will learn how to create lifelike drawings using shading techniques and the value scale. This will be a very interesting class.
Watercolors
May 7, 14, 21, 28 1:30 - 3:30 pm.
$48/$40 for IFAC members
Students will learn how to manipulate this tricky medium. We will learn the basic of watercolors and how to create fantastic works of art. Students will exit the class with a composition in watercolor and a clear understanding of how to paint with watercolors.
